150 Brands on Pinterest
Have you heard all the rage about the up and coming social media site known as Pinterest? It has taken the web by storm, and brands are quickly jumping on board.
In addition to being one of the most popular social media site at this time, it is turning out to be a valuable marketing tool for businesses. I have even heard that it is driving more traffic to company websites and blogs than YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn combined. The way it works for businesses is that consumers “pin” products that they love. So, if a consumer is shopping for new bedding they can organize a board and “pin” all of their favorite finds. When they “pin” something new, their followers will see it. They can like, comment or re-pin it to their boards. Like Facebook content, your Pinterest pins can go viral.
A great example is of a new mom-to-be. She can “pin” products that she has on her wish list for her friends and family to see and it links to the actual product and the company that makes or sells that product. Making it a great place for her wish list and great for the business that sells that product. The possibilities are unlimited.
Businesses do need to remember that this is social media. If they simply display images of their products without contributing other content or sharing other users’ “pins,” they will likely find that people don’t pay much attention to them and loose followers. I have followed several such business and then un-followed them because it was just annoying.
Here is a list of some of the businesses and brands that can be found on Pinterest. There are more and more joining each day and we would love to hear if you have found some that we may not know about.

Hi Kelby,
Can you confirm that these companies are Pinterest members and we can therefore legitimately repin their pins? Or, are you saying others have pinned from their company websites? I always email through the contact section of a company website and ask permission. Many say yes, but Neiman Marcus put so many restrictions on use, I put them in the NO column.
Thanks for the upcoming book. We need it~and we need it bad!
