Being a Young Mom!
I had my first son Austin at the ripe age of 17. I know how it is to have everyone talk about you and whisper behind you back as you pass them in the local walmart. I had to grow up, but I did it because I wanted to be the best mom that I could be. I want to give young mother’s some advice.
When we are young, we think we are invisible. I did at least. When I became pregnant as a junior in high school with very little support from my friends and family, I had one person to rely on. Me!
I had to look deep with in my self and find the courage to forget about prom and the party at the lake next week and think about my son. I left school right before senior year and I don’t regret it. My husband and I had to struggle and we had some hard times but we made it through it all with each other, and with God. I don’t think that if I couldn’t handle having a child when I was still a child that God would have blessed me with that GIFT.
A child is a gift. When I had my children everyone tried to tell me what to do. I had them, not them. I decide what their schedule and eating habits are not anyone else. You are the parent of your children. Stand up. You are their role model. I am so blessed to have two beautiful boys! I wouldn’t change anything!
