Celebrity Moms in Their 30s

Posted by

It may be hard to remember, but there was a time when baby bumps weren’t paparazzi fodder for gossip columnists to gush over. It’s become a lot more accepted for celebrities to embrace motherhood over the last few years, and that is an awesome thing.

Here is a list of celebrity moms who are 30-somethings just like the rest of us, at the time this piece was written. (I’m sure if we all had stylists, personal trainers, and nannies, we could look as fab as them, too.)

Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973, making her 36 years old. This blonde bombshell is a model an actress, has four children: Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou. The oldest, Leni, was born in 2004.

Tina Fey was born on May 18, 1970, making her 39 years old for another few months and just squeaking by on this list! This SNL and 30 Rock funny lady has a daughter named Alice, whose September 2005 birthday is only a few weeks after my son’s!

Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, making her 33 years old for a few more weeks. This actress is a real Type-A Mom; her production company is called Type A Films. Her daughter Ava was born in September 1999, and her son Deacon was born in October 2003.

Melissa Joan Hart was born on April 18, 1976, making her 33 years old. I remember watching her on Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She has two sons, Mason and Braydon, who were born in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

Jennifer Garner was born on April 17, 1972, making her 37 years old. Her role as the adoptive mom in Juno was one of my favorites. Her daughter Violet was born in December 2005, and her other daughter Seraphina was born in January 2009.

Denise Richards was born on February 17, 1971, making her 39 years old. She starred in one of my guilty pleasure movies, Starship Troopers, back when I was still in college. Her two daughters, Sam and Lola, were born in 2004 and 2005, respectively.

Jenny McCarthy was born on November 1, 1972, making her 37 years old and a Scorpio like me. This former Playmate of the Year turned actress turned activist has an autistic son named Evan, born in May 2002, who inspired her controversial autism activism.

Jada Pinkett Smith was born on September 18, 1971, making her 38 years old. She was one of the bright spots for me in the Matrix sequels. She is mother to Jaden and Willow, born in 1998 and 2000, and step-mom to Trey, who was born in 1992.

Kelly Ripa was born on October 2, 1970, making her 39 years old. I remember her best as Hayley Santos on All My Children, but she’s far better known for her morning talk show with Regis Philbin. She has three children: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.

Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975, making her 34 years old. This actress is almost as well known for motherhood as she is for her films. She is the adoptive mother of Maddox, Zahara, and Pax, and the biological mother of Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Now that’s a lot of kids!
