I have always believed that new moms deserved a forum of their own to deal with their own unique issues. Well, that forum has arrived! It’s called “New Motherhood.” It’s a new stage on Type-A Mom and I am the new Editor of that stage.
I am very excited to be an editor at Type-A Mom, and to be the editor of the “New Motherhood” stage. In this stage you will find articles on becoming a mother, how to prepare for the transition to motherhood, and what you can expect as you take your first steps on this amazing journey.
When I became a mother for the first time I was surprised, or should I say shocked, at the lack of information I had to get me started on this new journey. I had no idea how much my life was about to change after I gave birth and how to successfully navigate through these changes.
Becoming a mother for the first time involves changes on many levels, including learning how to care for your newborn, discovering your potential as a mother, dealing with various emotions as your hormones adjust postpartum and as you adjust to this new life change, learning to trust your maternal instincts, and preparing for those first few months postpartum.
Becoming a mother is a wonderful event, but it is also a major life transition and one that every woman should be prepared for. Without adequate information and support it can be more stressful than joyful. The “New Motherhood” stage at Type-A Mom will help you prepare for your transition to motherhood so that you can experience more joy and less stress as you discover your new life role as a mother.
I am always looking for writers who can write about the transition to motherhood, breastfeeding, how to care for newborns, the first few weeks as a new mother, the benefits of doulas and nannies, and other issues such as postpartum depression.
