Great Gifts for Twins When They Don’t Need Toys

What do yo u get twins when they have, between them, every toy imaginable….times two? It’s OK to skip the toys and be creative in your gift giving. Because while twins often have two of things, they often lack one of their own.

Twins will love having their very own suitcase or wheeled backpack to take on trips. Not only is it helpful for you because they can wheel their own bag, but they feel indepent hauling around around their own stuff. Stuff they aren’t sharing with their twin. Twin Electronics

My twins happily share the DVD player we have in the car, but oh how they would love to have their own. Can you imagine NOT having to agree on a movie and being able to watch whatever you want? It’s definitely something I take for granted. I’m sure if I had kids of 2 different ages I wouldn’t force them to agree. Treat a set of twins to their own DVD player, MP3 player, Leapster , Nintendo DS , etc. (If you are wondering, I don’t classify these items as ‘toys’. In my house these are reserved for long car rides, doctor appointments, and other special occasions.)

Twin Alone Time

The one thing many twins don’t have is enough one-on-one time with parents, or even aunts, uncles, or grandma/grandpa if that who is doing the gift-giving. A great gift is to schedule that time alone with each twin. Buy tickets to separate events or the same event on different nights if they have similar taste in entertainment. Take them to see a movie separately, pick a new activity like ice skating, cooking, etc., or just take them out to lunch separately. Chances are, they’ll remember that feeling of being special longer than they will the activity!
