Breastfeeding Newborn BabyTo date, my brilliant breastfeeding career has spanned three years. This time included feeding a newborn, a toddler and an almost three year old. I tandem fed my son and his milk brother, suffered through nipple trauma in the early days, a breastfeeding strike a later on, fed proudly in public (including during a Government forum on breastfeeding) and traveled the journey of weaning. Breastfeeding has been a central part of my understanding and conceptualisation of myself as a mother.

Not surprisingly, I am a passionate advocate of breastfeeding for all the wonderful benefits, on a myriad of levels, it brings to mothers, babies and families as a whole.

For the past eighteen months I’ve missed breastfeeding dearly, so I am both excited and humbled to introduce myself as the new Breastfeeding Editor for Type-A Mom. I look forward to sharing the wisdom and experiences that I have accumulated in my time as a breastfeeding mother, as a member of a strong breastfeeding community of women, and now as a social geographer and writer.
