Introducing the New 20-something Mom Editor
Hi, my name is Tara and I am a 24 year old mom to a beautiful 15 month old little girl. I was born and raised in Southern California and I am currently living in Connecticut. A snow filled winter has been an interesting challenge and I hate shoveling my driveway. I do love shopping for the perfect outfit, shoes, and scrapbooking. My husband has been in the Navy for around 9 years, is a Submariner, and is currently deployed. I talk about life as a military wife on my personal blog This Military Mama.

Just shortly after my 23rd birthday I gave birth to my daughter. Having her has been wonderful. I love being a mom — it’s all I have ever wanted to do but it wasn’t exactly the plan to have kids so young. My husband has an extremely low chance of having children [2% and less] so when we find out I was pregnant at 22 we took it as a blessing and just decided to refocus our life. While we still have a lot of our same goals, our priorities just changed.
At this point in my life as a mom I’m not the typical young 20-something women anymore. A lot of my single friends and I don’t really relate now because they don’t understand that I make toddler friendly meals, I have bath time and bed time, or I can’t buy the great boots because my daughter is growing in to a new size of clothing.
I think being a 20-something Mom has wonderful rewards and unique challenges, it’s definitely all about balance. As the new 20-something Moms editor I hope to share with you the tips and tricks I have learned so far. I will be honest with you about my struggles and challenges as well and hopefully any solutions I may or may not find. I look forward to writing about challenges and blessings of a 20-something Mom.
We are 20-something moms, we are the younger moms but that doesn’t mean we have to skip out on the fun of our 20′s! We can still feel young and fabulous and still be wonderful moms. We can have it all!
I hope you will join me in writing here at Type-A Mom. I would love to read your unique and person views and experiences as a 20-something mom.
