NVEY ECO Organic Makeup Review

NVEY ECO graciously sent me a few things to try from their current makeup line. I was excited to try organic makeup for the first time and had really been reading up about it so I was familiar with what NVEY ECO means when they say organic. Their website even has a full page explaining ‘The Organic Standard for Makeup.’ NVEY ECO ‘fills a void for consumers in search of beneficial makeup in tune with the wellness lifestyle.’ NVEY ECO, Organic Makeup is also ‘made with the most natural organic ingredients and contains the highest color value pigments ensuring professional, easy-to-achieve application and results.’

NVEY ECO, Organic Makeup Pros

First up was the Nvey Eco Organic Lipstickalt. This lipstick went on smoothly and felt moisturizing. It stayed on for quite a while although I found myself wanting to apply it more frequently because it felt good on. The lipstick also had a great shimmer effect which looked good during the day and at night. The lipstick is also loaded with antioxidants like Safflower Oil and Organic Castor Oil. Don’t those just seem like they would be soothing.

The NVEY ECO Organic Eyeshadow – 158alt went on smoothly and had lasting power. Frequently for me, eye shadow gets into the creases and needs to reapplied. The eye shadow enhances my eyes and contours as expected. It could be worn alone or with other colors. Another bonus of this eye shadow is that people with sensitive skin can use it as well. I always have to be careful of irritating my contacts with any makeup that I choose. This eyeshadow has Chamomile and Vitamins A, C & E which make it very soft.

Finally the NVEY ECO Organic Powder Blush – 954alt was not a product that I usually try. I am pretty set on my Bare Minerals makeup at least as far as the foundation goes. I have pink cheeks and am fair skinned so I can often look like I am wearing stage makeup if I am at all heavy handed with the blush. I am much more willing to experiment with eye shadow, lipstick and mascara. I was pleasantly surprised though when I tried the blush. It did a great job of contouring without being overbearing. It was subtle.

NVEY ECO, Organic Makeup Cons

Although I liked the Nvey Eco Organic Lipstick, the color that I was sent was definitely not a winner for me. I am fairskinned and the color is what you would call Carrot although NVEY ECO calls it Tangerine Gold. My husband and kids call it carrot. It is not the best color for me and my skin type.

The NVEY ECO Organic Eyeshadow – 158altseemed a little too powderly at first but otherwise did very during application and wearing.

The NVEY ECO Organic Powder Blush – 954alt can look a little heavy if over applied. I am  the kind of person who strives for a very natural look with my makeup. As a result, I sometimes need do-overs when I use blush and eyeshadow. I only had one do-over with this blush so far.
