International CES is filled with some amazing parent tech, from devices to make live easier as a mom or dad to some pretty clever gadgets for children. There are thousands of booths here, so it isn’t easy to narrow things down. Here is a rundown of the coolest, standout parent tech I have seen so far at CES.

CTA Digital at CES

This is an inflatable, responsive gaming race kart for kids from CTA.

My kids would go nuts for this!

The CTA booth also had quite a few other cool items.

For example, there was an inflatable tablet holder that looked really fun for kids.

 HyperJuice at CES

Battery power is an issue for me. That is especially the case when traveling and going to conferences. In fact, I have become borderline obsessed with backup battery options on the go. I was impressed with the HyperJuice backup batteries. For one thing, there is finally one that isn’t in standard black. But I also have become uptight about capacity. I loved that the micro holds three extra charges for an iPhone, for example, and the mini holds six extra charges.

Sony Tablet S at CES

This is the new Sony Tablet S. If you can believe it, I actually was given one of these at the Techlicious Moms party last night! This tablet is really slick, and its design is incredible. Instead of the typical block that tablets have, it has a rounded edge that makes it much easier to hold. Another cool feature is the integration with Playstation games. I will have a future post focusing on the Sony Tablet S, but wanted to be sure to highlight it here. I will also be running by the Sony booth today, because I have heard quite a few people mention that there is a new Sony Bloggy video camera with livestreaming.

Verizon Wireless at CES

I was invited to a Verizon Wireless blogger event yesterday, and was blown away by the technology and capabilities that are currently available or will be in the near future. In the picture above, they are demonstrating an in-store kiosk that will allow you to have a personal avatar to try on clothes. You can also connect immediately with a personal shopper for assistance. If you are at all like me and (a) hate trying on clothes or (b) hate having your kids try on clothes even more, this is pretty amazing.

They also showed off a Jukebox that allows you to play any of hundreds of thousands of songs, and has apps like a photo booth. Here is a video of that demonstration.

I will do a full post after CES about Verizon Wireless, but those are a couple highlights.

GeoPalz Interactive Kids’ Pedometer at CES

When I first walked onto the show floor the first day I arrived, I spotted the GeoPalz booth. This is one product that I find, amongst the thousands here, keeps sticking in my mind and just simple, clever and useful. As I have run into other moms and we talked about what stands out at CES, I keep hearing them mention this product as well. GeoPalz is a pedometer for kids that can be worn on the shoe or hip. It is also connected to an online site where kids can earn prizes (from the site, or incentives that you provide such as, for example, 30 minutes of gaming time for x number of steps).

I see so much potential here. Obviously, childhood obesity is a major issue so it is great just from the perspective of one mom thinking of helping my own kids get into shape. I can also see real possibilities on a group level. For example, a class could have an incentive when all the kids hit a number of steps, such as a party.

Vinci Tablet for Toddlers and Preschoolers

I also saw a tablet designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers, Vinci. It has an easy-to-hold handle and is durable, and features apps by age level and development.

You can follow the updates and new products from the the show floor by following #TypeACES and at the main Type-A Parent CES coverage page.

Hi! I was at CES too. I wish I would have seen that gaming area by CTA and the Verizon booth because I felt a bit disappointed with what they had carved out for the Kids@Play section. I found the geopalz and really loved the idea! I took two home to try out for my own kids, who are chomping at the bit for me to get them registered on Amazon. I, too, think it’s a great idea with so much potential. Did you know it’s the same company as the jibbitz for Crocs? Great times!
