Romantic Tips for Single Moms
Are you a single mom facing Valentine’s Day? Are you dating a great guy, but having difficulty getting a baby sitter on Valentine’s Day? Or maybe you are single mom who is really single with no date or dating prospects on Valentine’s Day? Are you feeling a little down in the dumps in your heart?
You are not alone. Many singles report feeling low and a bit dismal facing the romantic and commercial pressures of Valentine’s Day. It can almost feel like everyone else in the world is in love and coupled up but you.
Plus this year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday. It’s like a double whammy. What’s a single mom to do?
Ladies, it is time to practice a little self love and self care
When we are mommies, so often it feels like we give give give and it’s all about caring for and loving our children. Of course, as moms we do love our children. However, we need to practice some excellent self-love and self-care to recharge our batteries.
Valentine’s Day is all about Sensual and Romantic Love. Even when you are not in a romantic couple relationship, you can affirm and nurture your inner sensual and romantic side.
Give Yourself Your Favorite Flower
Quick! Before all the flowers are picked over late this week, go today to your grocery story or favorite florist and buy yourself your favorite flower. What’s yours? Do you remember why you love this flower? Mine are Pink Roses. I love them because my father used to give them to me for my birthday. I always feel special, cherished and adored with Pink Roses. What’s yours? It can be just one. It’s for you. Just for you because you are special. Affirm it in yourself. Go ahead. You deserve it.
Give Yourself a Valentine’s Day Card
Go ahead. No one is looking. Give yourself the card you really want. Maybe it’s one that really speaks to your goofy romantic side that is one of the humorous cards from Hallmark. Or maybe it’s the super romantic mushy one that really, on one is looking, you feel you’re supposed to be too sophisticated to want… but you really do want that one. Go ahead. Buy it for yourself. Write something inside the card that affirms you. “…. because you really are special….”
Give Yourself Romantic Valentine’s Day Candles
You can even buy candles inexpensively from the store or a box of them from Ikea so you are keeping with being frugal. Put some on either side of your bed. Light them. Turn the lights off in your bedroom and just enjoy the romantic candle light to feel your sensual romantic side. Enjoy the soft lighting and how it makes you feel.
Go ahead and do this for yourself. You may want to wait until your children are in bed to do all of this for yourself. Nurture your sensual romantic side. You’re a single mom and you deserve it.
