The Type-A Mom Conference speakers come from all aspects of the social media spectrum. There are marketing masterminds, and dazzling weavers of the written word. There are movers and shakers, Twitterati and social media mavens. Some know how to make cash blogging, some know how to build a fiercely loyal community of readers and followers, and some can craft a killer blogger brand. Aliza Sherman


Aliza Sherman started the first woman-owned full-service Internet company, Cybergrrl, Inc., and the first global women’s Internet organization, Webgrrls International, that boasted over 100 chapters worldwide and over 30,000 online participants in the 90s. She launched the first three general interest web sites for women – Cybergrrl.com, Webgrrls.com, and Femina.com – predating all other major women’s web sites. Her pioneering work on the Web was recognized early on when Newsweek named her one of the “Top People Who Matter Most on the Internet.” More recently, Fast Company named her one of the “Most Influential Women in Technology.”

Aliza is the author of seven books including The Everything Blogging Book, Streetwise Ecommerce, and PowerTools for Women in Business. She is recognized as a thought leader in the ever-evolving landscape of Internet media, marketing, and communications, specializing in social media marketing with Conversify, the agency she co-founded in 2005. She is a frequent podcaster and blogger and has had a mommy blog since 2003 when she began sharing her experiences with multiple miscarriages and post partum depression.

She is an avid RVer and loves Karaoke.

Heather Solos


Heather Solos is a writer and founder of Home Ec 101. She began lifeblogging in late 2003 and began blogging professionally for the /Post and Courier/ in December of 2006. She is a self-professed lover of all forms of geekery, but especially enjoys the nascent world of social media.Relax, guru will never appear on her resume. She lives in the Lowcountry of South Carolina with her husband and three children and is anxiously looking forward to the launch of her book Home Ec 101 in the spring of 2011.

Kelby Carr is the founder and host of Type-A Mom Conference. She is a writer, a pioneer of the social mom blog, SEO and social media consultant, and former investigative newspaper reporter turned new media mom. She is the publisher of a network of parenting social sites, including Type-A Mom and Foodie Mama. She operates a service to connect mom bloggers and companies in an ethical way, Momtent, and another service to break down the walls between companies and mom blogger, Mom Reach. She is the author of Mom Blog SEO, and she blogs about social media, blogging and business at Kelby Carr. She’s been geeking it out on computers since she was 10, social networking online since the 1980s, web publishing since the early 1990s, and blogging since 2002.

Deb Ng has been working online as a professional blogger, freelance writer and social media consultant since 2000. In addition to blogging for such clients as Oxygen Media and About.com, Deb grew her freelance writing blog into the number one online community for freelance writers before selling it to Splashpress Media in 2010.

Currently Deb is the Conference Director for the BlogWorld & New Media Expo and blogs about blogging and social media at Kommein.
