What to Wear to the Type-A Mom Conference
It occurred to me that the Type-A Mom Conference is only about a month away, and I have no idea what I’m going to wear! I’ve always been a bit inept with fashion, but I’ve thankfully picked up at least a few tips since my early 20s. Now that I’m 30 – well, now that I’m a mom – there are certain outfits I just can’t wear anymore. That just aren’t flattering anymore.
In any case, I asked Kelby if there was any sort of dress code for the conference, and she said that she just wants everyone to feel comfortable. Now that’s my kind of conference! I did an informal poll of other conference attendees, and many women answered that they were planning on business casual attire. (Another said she’d be most comfortable in pajamas. Rock on!)
I’ve been told that it can be 70-90 degrees in Asheville in September, but that the nights can get as cool as 40 degrees. The conference center will be air conditioned, so if you get cold easily, you may want to take that into account.
So if you’re wondering, like me, what clothes to pack for the Type-A Mom Conference, here are some ideas…
Comfortable Clothes for the Walking Tour of Asheville
- T-shirt, polo shirt, tank top, etc.
- Jeans, shorts, etc.
- Or a sundress
- Comfortable sneakers, running shoes, or sandals
- Hat and sunglasses for sun protection
- Sunscreen
Business Casual Clothing for Business/Blogger Speed Dating and Sessions
- Blouse, polo shirt, button-down shirt, etc.
- Nice pants, slacks, skirt, etc.
- Or a dress
- Nice shoes (not sneakers)
Miscellaneous Clothing
- A nice cardigan or other sweater in case it gets cool
- Extra change of clothes in case of spills
- Hair accessories
- Any jewelry you may wish to wear
- Badges or other logo apparel provided by your sponsor
- Pajamas
Have I missed anything? Let me know! And if you haven’t purchased them yet, be sure to buy your tickets for the conference today! See you in Asheville!
