Crowdsourced Reception Party Music
We are going to crowdsource the Type-A Mom Conference reception and party music this year. Be sure to get your requests in right now! How do you do that? It’s pretty simple:

  • Visit Blip.fm. If you aren’t already a member, it is a free and simple to join.
  • Be sure to connect your Twitter account to your Blip account.
  • Blip a song and include why you love the song and it MUST include the #typeamom hashtag in the Blip.
  • That’s it! We’ll reBlip it and it will go into the Type-A Mom Conference playlist.

Type-A Mom Conference’s Swag Policy for Non-Sponsors
If you will be attending as a sponsored blogger or representing a company that is not an official sponsor of Type-A Mom Conference, be sure to review the conference policy on things such as what can and cannot be handed out or placed in conference spaces. If you or your sponsoring company would like the ability to provide swag to the attendees, we do have availability of gift bag inclusion sponsorship.

If You Haven’t Booked, a Sponsor Can Help
The special Type-A Mom room block at the official conference hotel has been sold out, but there is no need to fret! Sponsor Country Inns has stepped up to help those who still don’t have a room! They created a special Type-A Mom Conference room block with a great rate. It isn’t walking distance to the hotel, but it is a very short (2- to 5-minute drive) from the conference. If enough people book there, Country Inns will set up a shuttle service as well.

Check Your Registration
Be Sure to Update Before We Print
We are about to start printing conference badges. Before we do, be sure to check your registration’s attendee details to confirm your information is how you’d like it to appear on your badge (especially your name and Twitter @, which should be in the format of @username). If you transferred your ticket, it will be even more important to confirm the name and other details match the actual person who will be attending.

To do so, visit Eventbrite, click My Tickets and click Type-A Mom Conference. There, you can edit your attendee information.

Be Sure to Hashtag with #typeamom
I love the great conversation happening on Twitter about the conference! I wanted to let you know that the official hashtag is #typeamom. I have seen some other hashtags used, as well as people using @typeamom or @typeamomcon instead of the hashtag. While you are of course free to tweet any way you’d like, it would be greatly appreciated if you use the official hashtag. We are tracking and listening to the conversation, and use of other hashtags or @s instead won’t necessarily be monitored, tracked or appear on the conference homepage.

Donate Items to YWCA of Asheville’s MotherLove Program
One of the official conference charities, the YWCA of Asheville features a MotherLove Program that matches adult mentors with pregnant and parenting teens. Mentors provide needed support and guidance to these young mothers. Group meetings offer opportunities for education and sharing.

MotherLove could use some Type-A Mom love as well! When you are coming this year, be sure to bring some of these items to donate to the program:

Kid Con Registration Closing
Last Day is Friday
The Kid Con for children of attendees will close registration Friday, and there are just a few spots left. If you do not register by then, we cannot guarantee space and, even if there is space, you will no longer get the heavily subsidized rates ($75 for full-time three days vs. $240 not subsidized per child, for example).
